2019 marks the 300th anniversary of the passing of St. John Baptist De La Salle, founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, and patron saint of all teachers. De La Salle died in Rouen, France, on April 30th, 1719. To mark this historic year, there are many special events taking place around the world. On Twitter, the special hashtag #300LaSalle will be used to collate all activities taking place to mark the occasion.
Here in St. Stephen's, we will enter the Lasallian Competition once again this year. Previous classes have entered and had great success, particularly 5th Class 2017/2018, who won second place in the 2018 competition. Below, we have provided some links to the videos made by classes from St. Stephen's that have been entered in the Lasallian Competition since it began in 2016. There's also a link to our special page here on the website, with the history of Saint La Salle's life. We hope you enjoy reading about the Founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools!
